What (not) to expect in a University

I am writing this to keep a note of what is going on. It happened, we were all upset, nobody wants to protest, no one wants to publish it as news — the culture of power practice and our silence, nothing is new.

On 22nd August, some senior faculty members were humiliated. The people who humiliated the faculties, came to the campus with guns, used humiliated words to the teachers, in front of students (questionable, since the real ones are out there working for fund collection for flood victims, or at most settling themselves). Its all secondary information. As a researcher, I should not rely that much on secondary data, but I verified it from multiple sources and I trust the sources.

If anyone can come to the campus now with a gun and claim position, is it really an educational institute? If the teachers are humiliated with power, what is left to offer to our students? I have never felt so demotivated. It is a dark time. Darker than we have imagined.
