Final Verdict

Day before yesterday I received a verdict about the research I do. It does not have “merit” — it came from our university wide research office, school wide research chair and Dean. Well, there is no way to question the decision. It’s sad because, it is like a death sentence to the idea. No no, its almost like hanging the research-idea since a death sentence receiver can appeal but this idea cannot be resubmitted or reconsidered!

The merit-less work is on the work I do (and live for) about women’s inclusion in technology space. I knew it was a worthless idea. Many have told me. Some asked me to do real research, some laughed at me for working on cheesy ideas. And deep inside, don’t I really know that women will struggle in their technology space for a while?

Well patriarchy does not always come in marriage packages or family packages!
